Certamente, nel caso di un riconoscimento di colpevolezza Haftar potrebbe pure perdere la cittadinanza USA, e pure
perdere ogni possibilità di candidarsi alle prossime vagheggiate elezioni presidenziali libiche.
In definitiva potrebbe essere l'occasione buona per farlo scomparire dalla scena politica..

Warlord Khalif Haftar may have to pay the families of his victims up to $150 million, the
head of the Democracy and Human Rights Foundation, Emadadin Al-Muntaser, says.
On Friday, a Federal U.S court ruled against Haftar in a multiple war crimes case brought against
him by Libyan plaintiffs in 2019 and 2020, allowing the families of the victims to seek compensation.
Al-Muntaser emphasized that the conviction verdict is far more valuable and important than the compensation,
considering the magnitude of the loss these families suffered.
"The horror of the crimes, the intimidation of the victims, and the unceasingly killing and
torture carried out over the past years without remorse or compunction"
could prompt the jury to increase the compensation amount by tens of millions, Al-Muntaser said, indicating
that the damage payment could amount to $ 250 million.
However, he noted that these sums remain expectations until the court issues its
final ruling on the compensation value.
