New York
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
That's Venezuela's situation in a nutshell.
The 35-year-old lawmaker Juan Guaido took to the streets of Caracas with heavily armed forces to promote
the "final phase" to oust President Nicolas Maduro.
After violence and protests occurred this week, Maduro remains in power.
The resistance continues to gain its momentum to fight the regime that has been responsible for inflation, starvation,
and violence in the country.
Let Venezuela's situation be a cautionary tale for America as democratic socialists try to bolster policies that
may sound nice but have completely different outcomes.
Venezuelan policies - like the Fair Price Law - were anything but fair.
It is vital that we remind people of the opportunities capitalism provides and how the economy thrives on such a model.
If we replace capitalism with ideologies and policies that prevent economic growth, we may head down the
same road as Venezuela.
